The search for unusual or forgotten words leads to many current and historical sources throughout the world. Some infrequently used words found after research are "deerstalker," the hat like the one worn by Sherlock Holmes, "keeperess" for a woman who keeps a man and "danseur," a male ballet dancer.

British TV goggles

British inventor William Johnson is developing television goggles called Goggle Vox that produce a wide-screen effect and can be combined with stereo headphones. They will accept signals from broadcast TV, VCRs, video discs and computers, and will sell for about $500.

Case studies of three films demonstrate that the selection and combination of gestures and vocal/facial expressions are elements in the performance montage created by actors and directors, which in turn reflect the diversity of film practice.
