An analysis by Matt Davis, former analyst with the Australian Defense Signals Directorate and Defense Intelligence Organization, of "open source" Indonesian media and governmentEs documents has showed that even-high ranking officials in heavily guarded areas are not safe from Free Aceh rebels (GAM). GAM has killed fourteen district commanders, seven mid-ranking officers and seven regional police chiefs.
