A tax on mommy
Article Abstract:
The Japanese government is considering taxing housewives. They are eligible for full pension and are not contributing anything towards the fund. The law about women making less than 1.3 million yen a year being exempt has prompted many women to cap their salary at that amount. Taxing housewives is seen as unfair by those who believe that the pension would have been belated acknowledgement of their current unpaid contribution to society.
