Fidelity fires first salvo in likely mutual fund fee war

Fidelity Investments Canada announced on November 24, 2004, that it is cutting fees on all of its funds sold with an upfront sales commission, a move that would spark the industry price war in the months ahead. From the investor's point of view, lower fees would mean slightly higher returns.
