China in WTO 'is a great deal'
Article Abstract:
Business experts are in consensus that China's inclusion into the World Trade Organization (WTO) would boost many US industries representing a broad spectrum of products. Textile makers and labor leaders believe that thousand of US jobs will be lost because of the US' deal to back China's bid to become a WTO member in exchange for China's elimination of numerous tariffs on US products and scrap subsidies on its own goods. However, US Chamber of Commerce Pres Tom Donohue says the US will generally benefit because of the expected increase in exports.
