Oracle to shave 900 jobs from workforce
Article Abstract:
Oracle Corp, a leading computer software manufacturer, has decided to remove up to 2% or 900 workers from its total workforce. The company intends to make the cuts through a combination of attrition and job eliminations. The company attributed the decision to the slowdown in business, which it expects to last through the rest of 2001. The cutback is the second since May 2000, when it eliminated 2,500 jobs or 6% of its workforce.
