The International team won the Presidents Cup over the American team, taking home financial rewards as well as the prestige. The American team was regarded by many as the mightiest team in golfing, but they lost the match from the first day. Many of the players in the International team were not known beyond their respective countries, but they played with more passion and determination than Americans.

Mark O'Meara, the American golfer, has had a dramatic resurgence at the age of 41. He argues that he may be a nice or good player but not a great player. However, golf enthusiasts disagree and they come in thousands to watch him play. O'Meara will join other American players to travel to Australia to compete against Greg Norman and his international team for the Presidents Cup.
