Reinventing the drive-in, Beijing style
Article Abstract:
Entrepreneur Wang Quishun has opened China's first drive-in theater called the Beijing Drive-in Theater. The business thrives on its patrons of young, middle-class Chinese with enough money for cars. However, it faces the problem of not having enough good movies to show in its outdoor facility, showing mostly Russian and Chinese reruns. China has around 9,000 indoor cinema screens and at least 50,000 mobile movie screens that tour the country for the peasants.
