Satellites called a key to extending BCE's reach

BCE Media Inc, a subsidiary of BCE Inc, is planning to expand its satellite operations by competing in the lucrative US and other foreign markets. The group is eyeing its share of the $5.1-billion war chest that its parent BCE Inc acquired through the sale of a 20% stake in Bell Canada to Ameritech. Among the plans of BCE are to launch another satellite and increased subsidization of ExpressVu subscriber equipment.
