The Katrina Project: Hell and High Water

Article Abstract:

The Katrina Project: Hell and High Water is a mixed-genre docudrama recasting significant events related to the hurricane and its aftermath. It is an inspired piece of pedagogy and 72 hours after Katrina Hattiesburg High School sent students out for interviewing evacuees and others affected by the storm and their notes, and snippets from national and local coverage make the script for this project.

Convergence and divergence of basic needs and income: an international comparison

Article Abstract:

A study on per capita income and Human Development Index data from 100 countries is presented. The data relates to the period from 1975 to 1998 and it is divided based on high, middle and low income. The study concludes that there is convergence for basic needs and divergence for income.

Military defeat, especially involving heroes, has traditionally been portrayed in terms of glory and martyrdom. However, recent times have shown how literature and film have created anti-epics that reflect growing skepticism about the conduct of war and the nature of heroism.
