Article Abstract:
Research was conducted to examine elder abuse with particular reference to incidents and the gender and age of perpetrators. The study focused on 99 cases of elder abuse by an adult child and 86 cases of elder abuse by a spouse. Results viewed from a feminist and age point of view showed that men are more likely than women to be the perpetrators of elder abuse and that women were more likely than men to be the victims of elder abuse.
