Problem behavior in the last year of life: prevalence, risks, and care receipt in older Americans
Article Abstract:
This article examines the relationship between behavioral problems in older adults and their quality of care. Findings indicate that problem behaviors are common among the elderly, especially those with conditions like dementia or alcoholism, and that these behaviors significantly decrease their quality of care during the final year of life.

The Delirium Index, a measure of the severity of delirium: new findings on reliability, validity, and responsiveness
Article Abstract:
The reliability, validity, and responsiveness of an instrument for measuring the severity of delirium, the Delirium Index (DI) is examined. It is concluded that DI appears to be a reliable, valid and responsive measure of the severity of delirium in patients with delirium, with or without dementia.
