Sexuality and sexual expression in persons with mental retardation
Article Abstract:
The sexual rights of the mentally retarded require them to be able to give their consent, verbally or by gesturing, to sexual contact. Individuals with mild mental retardation are generally able to do so if they have had access to proper training and education, however most individuals with moderate or severe retardation cannot. Factors such as third-party consent need to be incorporated into their education to enable the moderately and severely retarded individuals to express their sexuality in a socially acceptable way. This is important in protecting them from sexual exploitation.

"For sex: see librarian": librarians, sexologists, and sexuality education
Article Abstract:
Libraries are the logical place to disseminate information about sex, AIDS and sexual identity. However, libraries have also historically been considered the bastions of society and therefore have faced social and legal repercussions when choosing to carry sex information. In addition, libraries choose their holdings mainly from reviews and sex information is rarely reviewed, partially because it is usually published by small presses. Therefore, the attitude toward sex information in libraries and sex information reviewing need to be changed to promote public education.
