The Third Culture
Article Abstract:
The 'Two Cultures' concept denoting the artist and the scientist has changed to incorporate a Third Culture which constitutes generations, classes and income groups. The Third Culture is exemplified by protestors at world summits and represents a response of people who are aware that the tools and technologies used to control them can also manipulated to make oppressive regimes lose their hold, while also recognizing the ambivalent nature of technology.

Processes and patterns in transitions and system innovations: refining the co- evolutionary multi-level perspective
Article Abstract:
The co-evolutionary multi-level perspective is presented in understanding how sociotechnical systems bring about system innovations. The transitions at the level of societal functions such as transportation, communication and housing are studied for this purpose. The characteristic patterns of the system innovations are defined.
