Fast and crafty
Article Abstract:
A new fast rescue craft (FRC) design was recently introduced by Alexander/Ryan Marine & Safety, which features a totally enclosed lifeboat that can travel up to 30 knots. The rights for the Dolphin were brought by Alexander/Ryan Marine & Safety, in partnership with China's Beihai Shipyard, in 2004 from a Swedish company that originally created the design. The new version, called Beihai Dolphin, caters to SOLAS loading requirements of 18 persons and Gulf of Mexico requirements of 24 persons, and the company may also plan to come up with a new design for up to 30 persons.
