New challenger enters 320mm-bore arena
Article Abstract:
MAN B&W Diesel A/S' new 320mm-bore engine, L32/40, offers high-quality propulsion power and low maintenance costs. The newfour-stroke engine is capable of giving 2,640 to 3,960kW of power. Moreover, its unique design eliminates the risk of corrosion because no cooling water circulates within engine. In addition, the L32/40 reduces maintenance costs because its engine over-haul interval is two years.

Sterntube seals can be fitted alongside
Article Abstract:
Sterntube seals designed by Swedish firm Cedervall and Soner are fast gaining acceptance among shipbuilders and repairers. The KR shaft seal of the company is particularly prized for less effective or leaking systems. A faster retrofit is made possible by the seal's split design and short installation lngth since it does not require neither shaft withdrawal nor propeller dismounting.
