Furniture designer Jorgen Rasmussen developed the Cambio line of chairs of Milcare Inc, with the needs of the health care industry in mind. Cambio line utilizes innovative materials for a singular profile product which meets the health industry's budget and technical requirements. The seat pads can be zipped on and off for easy cleaning. In addition, the configurations will be comfortable for waiting patients, regardless of their body proportion. Cambio has been field-tested at the St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Rapids and Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago.

Allsteel, a subsidiary of BTR of the UK, has undergone a radical reorganization after 80 years in business. It has redesigned its products, introduced 12 new products in 1993, revised its customer service policy and has changed its pricing policy. It hopes to increase its turnover of $200 million by 50%. Its new products include a quick ship Quick Chair, a flexible simple flooring system called CoDesign Cablefloor and the Tolleson chair range.

Article Abstract:

The new Sackler Galleries at London's Royal Academy of Arts was redesigned by Sir Norman Foster. The exhibition area has been converted into a light, accessible space with barrel-vaulted ceilings and electronically-controlled louvres to manage the lighting. The gap between the original Burlington House and the main galleries which made the Sackler Galleries inaccessible has been remedied with an oval glass elevator and a glass staircase.
