Legal strategy

Article Abstract:

The design for the Howrey and Simon legal offices combined contemporary and traditional design elements to convey the owners' approach to their craft. Lehman Smith Wiseman and Assoc began the project by choosing a building whose facade would complement the owners' concept. The office included one floor below grade which housed computers, administrative functions and other service areas but this area reflects the same quality of design employed in the upper floors. The interiors complement the architectural design and the use of light antique furniture resulted in a subtly elegant office space.

No news ... isn't necessarily good news in the industry

Article Abstract:

Professional product designers urge their colleagues to be innovative for the advancement of the industry. They criticized manufacturers' complacent attitudes and lack of initiative in formulating design proposals. They also noted the profusion of commonplace product designs and the designers'lack of direction. These have resulted in the public's wary perception of designers and a low creative output. They recommended that companies should give product designers more opportunities to maximize their creative energies, penetrate a wider market and be acknowledged for their contributions.
