How mammalian sex chromosomes acquired their peculiar gene content

Article Abstract:

Several evolutionary theories that may account for the nonrandom assessment of genes on the sex chromosomes are outlined. The impact of the sex chromosome gene-content on the phenotypic evolution of mammals and particularly humans is described.

Expansion of the genetic code in yeast: making life more complex

Article Abstract:

The attempts to expand the genetic code that progressed to nucleus containing cells are discussed. The result showed that the transformed yeast cells make an experimental elevation of code complexity possible in mammals.

Post-replication repair in DT40 cells: translesion polymerases versus recombinases

Article Abstract:

The understanding of the post-replication repair in DT40 in view of bacterial, yeast and mammalian genetics is mentioned. A genetic analysis of translesion synthesis and homologous recombination is put forth.
