Computer Secrets Guarded in New Mini Store

Article Abstract:

The Estoril Group is offering a chain of storage facilities designed especially for the off-site storage of hard-to-replace items such as computer tapes, microfilm and art objects. Three types of security are provided. Type C, with an infra-red alarm system, monitored video surveillance and fire protection. Type B offers the additional protection of a fire and explosion-proof safe. Class A provides storage in a safe that is fire and water resistant and keeps temperatures below 125 degrees farenheit and humidity below eighty per cent.

Security methods for safeguarding information and processing- equipment are lagging behind the data processing industry. Business should evaluate what a loss of their records and equipment would cost. Chubb has added Model 2719 to its line of Security Cabinets. Model 2719 takes up 6.75 square feet of office space when installed and guarantees its contents against temperatures to 125 degrees Fahrenheit and eighty per cent humidity.

Computer-Based Library in Joint Venture

Article Abstract:

An Australian college and city council have jointly secured a Urical Library System. It has spread to encompass five libraries since its first installation in 1981. This is the first cooperative agreement between a public and college library, and the system has increased their circulation, cataloging and accounting capabilities.
