Article Abstract:

Vienna-based Quester will continue to seek to strengthen its presence on the Upper Austrian market, after it failed to gain control of the troubled Wels-based construction materials chain Stadlbauer. The latter was acquired by C. Bergmann, a construction materials trader based in Traun. With an annual turnover of Sch 2.7bn, Bergmann is now ranked first in Upper Austria, Salzburg and western Austria. Quester has an annual turnover of Sch 2.4bn. It is eyeing cooperation with and acquisitions of smaller traders in Upper Austria.
