Governance, organizational capabilities, and restructuring in transition economies

Article Abstract:

The governance, firm capabilities and restructuring in organizations, which have undergone politically influenced 'give-away' privatization to insiders have been seen as being not up to the mark in Central and Eastern European transition markets. Therefore, outside ownership involvement and the development of organizational capabilities have been recommended for restructuring.

Organizational coping with institutional upheaval in transition economies

Article Abstract:

A model using institutional theory framework has been developed and tested with data from 1723 firms in 22 countries in Central and Eastern Europe and the Newly Independent States, to help device solutions for transition economies. This study highlights the need to consider cultural and contextual embeddedness while explaining the transformation.

Rethinking foreign infrastructure investment in developing countries

Article Abstract:

The 1990s saw a boom in foreign direct investment (FDI) in infrastructure sectors in developing countries. Overall forecast is that infrastructure FDI in developing countries will stabilize in the future at a lower, more sustainable level and there are policy implications for multinational corporations (MNCs) and governments.
