Gloom in Russia

Article Abstract:

The financial crisis in Russia has halted Russian privatization activities. Arkhangelsk Airlines, Rosneft, the St. Petersburg seaport and Gazprom are all awaiting privatization. Gazprom submitted a plan to the government to sell its stake over a five-year period. It is important for Gazprom and the government to coordinate their sales to ensure that each side obtains the most revenue for its stake.

Article Abstract:

Latvian Privatization Agency Dir Gen Janis Naglis has successfully managed the privatization of most of Latvia's large state enterprises and 96% of its small and medium-sized enterprises. He and his staff of 120 work 12 hours to 14 hours per day. Naglis enjoys his work but takes time for sports afterwards.
