More women in Asia are getting ahead by degrees

Article Abstract:

Despite cultural barriers, Asian women are pursuing business degrees in the United States in record numbers. Korean and Japanese women show the highest increase (227% and 57% respectively) in number of women participating in standardized testing among Pacific countries surveyed.

'Honey, it is the horizon calling.'(growth of telecommuters)

Extreme telecommuters are increasing in number due to Internet, lap top, and cell phone growth and company downsizing, which has resulted in more home-based businesses and contracting. While many employers view telecommuting as a way to keep employees while cutting costs, 30% of telecommuters end up returning to their offices due to the solitude or poor self-discipline.

Graduates in Japan are spinning internships into careers

Article Abstract:

Entrepreneurial Training for Innovative Communities (ETIC) is a nonprofit organization in Japan that supports entrepreneurial thinking by providing internship opportunities for college students. Most graduates join a large company and work their way up the corporate ladder but the founder of ETIC, Haruo Miyagi, believes that individual initiative is rare and important for the Japanese economy.
