Manchester announces Piccadilly Gardens five

Article Abstract:

An initial list of 75 architects hoping to be selected to work on the redevelopment of Piccadilly Gardens in Manchester has been whittled down to just 5 practices, with the building expected to start at the beginning of 2001. The project is expected to cost up to 60 million pounds sterling and will include retail, office and leisure outlets. Other areas of Manchester city centre have been regenerated after severe damage was caused by a massive bomb blast in 1996.
