The globalization of capitalism has geographical limitations, as landlocked and tropical countries have natural disadvantages to overcome. The importance of open markets, prudent fiscal policies, the rule of law and demographics on economic growth are examined.

Deflation and all that

Article Abstract:

Forecasts by some US economists that global overcapacity will cause worldwide deflation are based on questionable assumptions. Global productive capacity is not growing at a high rate. The slowdown in Asia will help curb inflation rather than fuel deflation.
