Betting on success

Article Abstract:

Presently there are 21 states which have decide to cash in on the modern lottery business; at least 18 additional states have lottery legislation pending. Roughly 20 million one-dollar tickets are purchased each day. During 1984 almost $7 billion was spent on lotteries, up $2 billion from the 1983 total. As soon as the California lottery gets going, an additional $2 billion per year will be generated. By enlarging the lottery market into new income and demographics classes, new game systems will enhance future income potential for the lottery companies and the states.

Tide's quest for a liquid success

Article Abstract:

Procter & Gamble's gamble with the distribution of Liquid Tide has paid off as the product is recording high sales and has helped revert the consumer products maker to the winning track. The corporation has yearly sales of around $12.9 billion. For fiscal 1984, the corporation's capital allocations of $906 million were 33 percent over the fiscal 1983 spending level. The company is selling the new unscented Tide and New Detergent Science Tide in an effort to keep as many powder customers as possible.

Cleanworks Dispensing System

Article Abstract:

The Cleanworks Dispensing System of Scott/Sani-Fresh International Inc won a gold award in the equipment category of the 1992 I.D. Annual Design Review. The Cleanworks Dispensing System incorporates six 2.5 gallon containers of concentrated industrial cleaning fluids. It is connected to a water supply line and delivers the cleaning fuids in the correct proportion. It was praised as a practical design solution that eliminatesg the need for large storage spaces for diluted cleaning fluids.
