Insiders have decided to hedge given that the firm's stock reached its historical highs in Apr. and May 1995. Insider selling is also evident at Southdown Inc., since the unexpectedly rapid economic slowdown nay adversely affect the cement firm's fundamentals. Other stocks showing insider selling are those of Cone Mills Corp., Gap Inc. and Circuit City Stores Inc.

Gap Inc

Article Abstract:

Gap Inc stock has been declining for the better part of 1992 as it moves away from the Jan 1992 high in the $59 level. Insider accumulation was expected at low prices and yet five insiders still cleared out 38,800 shares in Nov 1992 at the low $35 to $36 range. The insiders, however, sold their shares before Thanksgiving 1992 so they missed on several satisfactory developments. Insiders are selling at lows so caution is recommended.
