Geometrical parameters controlling sensitivity of nanoshell plasmon resonances to changes in dielectric environment

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to investigate the geometrical parameters that control the sensitivity of the plasmon resonance wavelength of a silica-gold nanoshell to changes in its dielectric environment. It was found that the magnitude of the surface plasmon resonance frequency shift upon a change in refractive index of the embedding medium depended mainly on total nanoparticle size and less sensitivity on the core/shell ratio.

Synthesis and photophysical properties of nonbenzoid ended fluorophores

Article Abstract:

The Sonogashira, Suzuki and Wittig-Horner reactions are used for synthesizing a series of [pi]-conjugated compounds. The studies have shown that emission efficiency has largely depended on molecular structure, aggregation type and size of nanoaggregates.

Tuning the size of silver nanodisks with similar aspect ratios: synthesis and optical properties

Article Abstract:

The first method, for making silver nanodisks possessing the similar aspect ratios but differing in size, is described. These nanodisks characterized by such anisotropic shapes exhibit several plasmon resonance modes observed in the UV-visible range.
