Nanoscale casting using supercritical fluid

Article Abstract:

The use of supercritical fluid as a solvent in the synthesis of porous silica fibers with activated carbon fibers as the template has been studied. It was observed that that the macro and meso structures of the base-activated carbon fibers were accurately reproduced in the silica compounds. These findings demonstrate the viability of supercritical fluid in producing ceramic duplicates of materials with complex structures such as activated carbon. It has also been proven that activated carbon with micropores can be used as a template for nanoscale structure control.
