There have been considerable advancements in CRT displays. The CRT provides for easy viewing, easy operation and the handling of simultaneous documents. It is used for a variety of functions, such as games and information display. CRT displays use a combination delta electron gun and dot shadow mask, combination in-line electron gun and dot shadow mask or combination in-line electron gun and stripe mask shadow. Important factors to consider in a CRT are display capabilities, method of display and input signals. A clear display of information depends upon brightness, focus, convergence, contrast, non-glare panel, flicker and voltage. The CRT offers multicolor displays. Charts illustrate CRT characteristics.

A growth in the videodisk market is expected through 1987. This growth is attributed to the sale of laser format videodisk equipment to manufacturers of arcade games. Laser-format technology will account for ninety-one per cent of hardware sales or two billion dollars and ninety-one per cent of software sales or five billion dollars by 1987. Schools are expected to be the primary users of videodisk equipment.
