Rank carve up tipped to follow Teare's departure

Article Abstract:

Chief executive, Andrew Teare, has resigned from his post at Rank after profits fell by 20% for the third fiscal quarter. Teare had been chief executive for 2.5 years. It is forecast that parts of the Rank organisation will be sold off. The Deluxe video duplication business may be the first to go and nightclubs and Rank's share in Universal Studios may follow. Attempts to find a new chief executive are underway.

Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson was a Russian emigre in America and a French-educated Jew who molded what was left of the Hasidic sect during the post-World War II era into a leading force in Judaism. He was never in Israel but his influence was stronly felt among the country's population.
