Dialogue takes top Caples, but Oglivy gets the most awards

Article Abstract:

Dialogue Marketing Communications of Dublin, Ireland, won the Max Sackheim Award/Best of Show, which is the top honor at the 22nd International John Caples Award. The direct marketing firm won the award for a campaign it did for Ireland's national telephone company. New York, NY-based Oglivy One, however, got the most number of awards by winning in several categories, including consumer television, print and outdoor.

Direct Partners New York debuts with 3 new clients

Marina del Rey, CA-based Direct Partners has created a new unit in the East Coast called Direct Partners New York. Direct Partners New York, whose offices are located in Manhattan, debuts with three additional clients, namely, Unilever PLC, Pitney Bowes and Citicorp. The move into New York, according to Direct Partners managing partner Wes Nichols, has enabled the firm to realize its rapid growth.

Hi-tech agency to become Web-based

DigitalWork.com of Chicago, IL, has decided to forego a brick-and-mortar presence and pursue a purely virtual existence via the Web. The company, which defines itself as the first do-it-yourself business-to-business marketing services firm in existence, offers online workshops in such areas as copywriting, direct mail and media buying to its clients. DigitalWork believes that advances in Web-based services have allowed firms to do their own marketing.
