Harte-Hanks Logistics goes after Big Brown

Harte-Hanks Logistics of Deefield Beach, CA, has introduced a new package of services aimed to exploit the US Postal Service's new worksharing discounts. The new system serves the business-to-residential shipping market down to the neighborhood post office level. Harte-Hanks said that the new service will offer residential delivery six days a week, door-to-door to every household in the US. The company integrated its network of 12 to 14 regional sortation centers to boost its delivery system.

Supreme Court lets states regulate DM consultants

Article Abstract:

Professional consultants who help nonprofit organizations raise money will be regulated by states. The Supreme Court handed down the ruling aimed at impsing licensing and disclosure requirements on the consultants. The justices rejected a challenge that American Target Advertising made to a Utah law, namely, the Utah Charitable Solicitation Act. The law requires consulting agencies to pay an annual registration fee of $250 and post a bond of $25,000.

Law lets companies add images to stamps

Article Abstract:

The new postal law in the United States will allow customized postal vendors to advertise images on postal stamps. The United States Postal Service will authorize this after testing it for one year.
