Industry fared pretty well in the year of the recounts

Article Abstract:

The boating industry has hailed the 2000 presidential election as an overall success. Industry leaders say the victory of George W Bush would be good for marine interests, who they believe would repeal the death tax and reform the bankruptcy law. Both bills were vetoed down by Bill Clinton during his presidency. On the other hand, 55 out of the 64 congressional candidates endorsed by the National Marine Manufacturers Assn wound up as winners in their respective districts.
