NTT in global drive pushing new technology

Article Abstract:

Nippon Denshin Denwa KK (NTT), Japan's leading telecommunications firm, has acquired Verio Inc, a Web-hosting company in the US, and bought a 15% stake in KPN Mobile, a Dutch mobile telephone service provider, in May 2000. NTT Commuications, the long-distance unit of NTT that already owns 10% of Verio through a transaction in Dec 1999, paid $5.5 billion for the rest of the Web-hosting firm's shares. The 15% interest in KPN was purcahsed by NTT DoCoMo, NTT's wireless unit, for $4.5 billion.

Acxiom uses venture to joint online list movement ?

Article Abstract:

Acxiom Corp of Conway, AR, has acquired a 42.5% stake in Internet solution provider Digital Asset Management Inc (DAMI) of Stamford, CT. DAMI offers list building services for an annual fee of $40. With the acquisition, DAMI clients can also use Acxiom's White Page directory of 85 million consumers and 14 million businesses. DAMI will also launch its new Web site in May and add searches by ZIP code, SIC code and geography.

ClientLogic buys pan-European call center firm in Holland

Article Abstract:

ClientLogic of Nashville, TN, has purchased Cordena Call Management of the Netherlands to further expand its operations in Europe. The acquisition of Cordena, an operator of call centers in seven European nations, fits well into ClientLogic's goal of going global to meet the needs of its US clients. ClientLogic also recognizes the rapid movement of the Internet business into Europe.
