Redrow built on good ground

Redrow Group expects profits and turnover to have increased in the year to Jun 1992. The ground engineering and construction group has used its which others had rejected. St David's Park, Clwyd, Wales is the best example where old mine workings have been transformed into an housing and business estate. Chmn, Steve Morgan founded the company in 1974 at the age of 21. He moved into house building in 1982 and prospered during the boom years of the late 80s. He plans to expand gradually and to continue to build high quality houses.

Redrow renews land buying

Article Abstract:

UK housebuilder Redrow Group aims to focus on its housebuilding division rather than its hotel and property interests. Redrow aims to build 10% more houses in 1993 and 15% extra in 1994. The group intends to increase its geographic representation in the UK and is involved in 2 land deals in the South East. Its plots are valued at about 13,000 pounds sterling each. Redrow was founded in 1974 by Steve Morgan who is the Chairman and has a 98% stake in the group. The group's borrowings are 4.5 million pounds sterling.

Amey fulfils aim of quick growth

Article Abstract:

Amey holdings has increased its profits by 53% during 1991. The company has continued with its policy of aquisitions despite the recession. It has benefitted from buying companies that had gone into receivership and by offering jobs to the managers of companies it has been unable to acquire. Amey's expansion began in 1989 with a 'management buy in' of ARC Construction and its interests currently include construction, house building, road building and mechanical and electrical contracting.
