Small sites raise funds via Amazon honor system

Article Abstract:

Amazon.com has unveiled the Honor System service that allows online users to make donations to participating sites but allows the company to make a little money on the side. The company gets 15 cents plus 15% of every transaction made through the Honor System, with donations ranging from $1 to $50. One of the organizations that is using the Honor System is the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence Institute, which raised more than $600 in its first week.

ALC-NY offers swaps for dormant exchanges

Article Abstract:

ALC of New York LLC said that it has formed listXchange namebank that will begin service in Jun 1, 2001. The online service will allow member mailers to sign on and swap unused exchange balances. By participating in the service, mailers can deposit those balances into the central repository at www.listxchange.com and withdraw the equivalent number of names. Only listXchange members can access the namebank, and all members sign an agreement before joining.
