Article Abstract:

John Churchill runs his own architectural ironmongery forge. He became interested in ironmongery while studying welding in France and while workingin the Sudan where he learnt blacksmithing. He set up his own forge on his return to England, making on metal fittings for boats. He also built up a list of architect clients. He uses mild steel as wrought iron is too expensive and has to buy a special form of coke for his furnace. Churchill's ambition is to make a set of large, ornate gates.

The mentally ill have historically been badly treated with electric shocks and locked up to keep them away from the rest of the society. A US professor, John Monahan, is heading a study, which he believes will predict future violence of these patients. His study looks at a patients childhood history, family history, and drug use as indicators of future violence.
