The ultimate home delivery

Article Abstract:

Volumetric prefabricated construction has never been used for multistorey permanent housing in the UK. However, Peabody Trust, one of the oldest housing associations in the UK, is now to develop a five-storey block of 30 flats using volumetric prefabricated construction in Hackney, London, England. The flats will be aimed at young single people, couples and flat-sharers. They will be made up of modules manufactured by Shepherd Building Group subsidiary Yorkon. This company will use the same production lines as those that have made large numbers of hotel and healthcare units.
