Tile roof restores courthouse to French Gothic style

Article Abstract:

Marion, OH-based construction firm Midstate Contractors Inc has used its considerable experience in restoring old buildings as well as modern technology to bring back the original splendor of the Hancock County Courthouse in Greenfield, IN, in record time. The structure was completed in 1898 and its clay tile roof, which had begun to exhibit signs of aging in the late 1970s, had been replaced by a new roofing system that was supposed to have lasted considerably longer than 18 years. Midstate Contractors tore down the historical building's replacement roof and installed a tile roof reminiscent of the original.
