Taming the beasts: providing new offices for Dublin Corporation entailed much more than fitting a new building into a sensitive riverfront site. A supreme damage-limitation excerise was called for to civilise two existing monstrous bunkers

Article Abstract:

The design for Dublin Corporation's civic offices by Scott Tallon Walker of Ireland, expands the existing controversial towers, referred to as 'bunkers', with a large wing filling the space between them. The link between the two bunker towers is a full height atrium, and the new strip buildings are also linked with a glazed roof, forming an atrium, or winter garden.
