CVU may validate two-year degrees

Article Abstract:

The Council of Validating Universities (CVU) has emerged as a leading contender to be higher education's representative in Foundation Degree Forward (FDF), the body that will provide a validation service for foundation degrees in the UK. Derek Pollard, chairman of the CVU, has confirmed that the council is in talks with the Department for Education and Skills regarding a possible role in the establishment and operation of the FDF.

Give staff voice to spread word on good practice

Article Abstract:

Issues relating to the consultation process for proposals to establish an Academy for the Advancement of Learning in the United Kingdom. It is argued that such an Academy, which aims to consolidate the work of the Higher Education Staff Development Agency, the Institute for Learning and Teaching in Higher Education and the Learning and Teaching Support Network, could unite institutions and faculty in the promotion of excellence.
