Iterative methods for image deblurring

Article Abstract:

The process of image formation and recording is imperfect, with the recorded image presenting a degraded version of the original scene. There are three major types of degradation: blurring, pointwise nonlinearities, and noise. Iterative procedures are suitable for removing linear blurs from photographic images. They can be used in a number of problems, including constrained, adaptive, and nonlinear restoration. Iterative procedures permit incorporating prior knowledge and can be used to remove nonstationary blurs. Iterative procedures require that the restorations lie in a closed convex space, which limits the set of solutions to the inversion problem.

On the resolution and contrast of microwave images using a complete first-order iterative algorithm

Article Abstract:

Microwave image quality that can be obtained using a complete first-order iterative algorithm is described in terms of a complex biological target. The potential of achieving resolution of one-tenth of the wavelength is shown by the results. The contrast in picturing the loss part is shown to be excellent, but for the real-part image it is rather poor.
