Component Television

Article Abstract:

A component television system today includes a color monitor, two speakers, a television tuner with a source selector switch and possibly other audio or recording equipment. The television industry sees component video sales increases as a way to continue growth. The capability to tune cable channels, electronic tuning, cone filters, stereo audio output, and high resolution are all features of modern component television sets. A diagram illustrates the evolution of the television system.

Keyworth at Mid-Term

Article Abstract:

George A. Keyworth II, President Reagan's science advisor, feels that he is a team player, loyal to Reagan's goals. The administration is interested in supporting research and development but wants tight control of money. Key figures of science serve on the White House Science Council. Keyworth feels that the scientific community should support Reagan's new nuclear defense systems.

Commercialization: High Time for Profits?

Article Abstract:

While slow in coming, private industry is finally getting into commercial space activity. Remote-sensing satellites, space launching, and space manufacturing are areas that companies are investing in. Other possibilities include mining asteroids, solar- power satellites, and even space tourism.
