Electric deregulation: you take charge

Article Abstract:

Chemical process industries (CMI) could save on energy costs with the advent of deregulation in the electric-utility market. Choosing which utility to be the source of electricity involves weighing the risks and benefits. Cost of electricity is not just the overriding concern, but CPI companies should also consider reliability of service and the role of the energy service provider, or ESP. Most likely to benefit from deregulation in its early phase are large CPI companies, some of which are predicting savings of between 15% and 20%.
