Fritz Haber, a German patriot developed the process that could turn atmospheric nitrogen into fertilizer. The nitrogen compounds are essential to fertilizer and equally important in making explosives.

Polymer ingredient is made form corn

Wilmington, DE-based DuPont announced that it has successfully manufactured 1,3-propanediol from corn using a fermentation process. The diol is used to make the company's newest polymer, Sorona.

Disposable chromatography membrane rivals resin-based systems
