Pipe monitoring powers profit. (sensor and analysis development in process engineering)

Article Abstract:

New technology had been developed to monitor fouling both inside and outside process plant pipes and measure the effect on heat transfer. It is used together with computer software mainly in the power generating industry, although it can be used in any type of process plant, and even in the domestic home heating system industry. The liquid-side fouling monitor comprises a heating block with a probe that uses platinum resistance thermometers for accuracy.

Single 3D channel guides knife

Article Abstract:

Stereoscopic Image Systems is developing a system which can send three-dimensional pictures down a single video channel. The equipment, which requires the user to wear glasses with polarising filters in each lens, works with conventional film, analogue and digital systems. The new technology could be of particular interest to surgeons undertaking keyhole surgery.
