Decentralized treatment and recycling domestic wastewater

Article Abstract:

An overview is presented on decentralized wastewater management, or the treatment and discharge of treated wastewater in the area or region in which it was generated. While many systems send wastewater to a centralized facility for treatment, a decentralized process offers greater dispersal capability as there are multiple dispersal sites, and may have a reduced environmental impact when compared to a larger dispersal site concentrated at a single location.
