Finding markets for C and D (non) debris

Article Abstract:

The convention is a good opportunity to demonstrate the benefits of deconstruction and recycling for Green Goat, a Somerville, MassachusettsEs non-profit than works with developers, contractors and building material manufactures to divert construction and demolition (C & D) debris. The onsite contractor, Shawmut Design and construction, and the Democratic National Convention Committee (DNCC) Green Goat provided advice on designing convention facilities at Boston's Fleet Center.

Biobased materials team up with renewable power

Article Abstract:

Eighteen college and university teams participitated in the competition sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy, to design an 800-square foot house that runs exclusively on solar energy, and powers a suite of bio-based appliances plus a plug-in electric car. The winning house was designed and built by a team from the University of Colorado (UC), which also won the first Solar Decathlon in 2002, nicknamed as 'Bios(h)ip'.

Navigating the household waste stream

A freelance writer Royte Elizabeth's personal observation of her household waste stream with barrage of statistics about waste generation and its environmental impacts is described. Many energy experts stress that moving to a clean energy future would be a process of small steps, applying individual fuels and technologies, where they are most appropriate.
